Charlie's Baby Session
Last month I had the opportunity to take Charlie's baby portraits! Charlie was born in November and we were originally scheduled for a newborn photoshoot, however due to a difficult delivery and postpartum complications (mama and baby are both recovering well now) his session had to be postponed until December.
Charlie was about one month old during his photoshoot and we weren't sure if we would be able to get him to sleep for any portraits - but luckily, with lots of coaxing and soothing, he gave us about 10 minutes of sleeping portraits! Since he was a little more prone to startling we were unable to do a large variety of poses, but I was very happy with what we were able to get!
I love the way this blue wrap photographed - purchased from TootsieShop!
I didn't (and I don't currently) use any kind of studio lighting for my portraits. These were all taken with available, natural, window light. You can see a slight variation in the light on the portraits above, this is due to changes in the sunlight coming through the window as well as my position around the window.
The lip droop - so sweet! Tired little man!
Every time I finish editing a session, I always go back and review and pick out photos that I think lend themselves also to black and white as well. I love black and white images and I want my clients to have some options when reviewing their photos. When you look at a gallery full of color, it can be difficult to imagine the black and white possibilities if they're not in front of you.
Well hello there, bright eyes! Nap time didn't last long and there was no getting this little boy back to sleep after a few minutes of shut-eye. He couldn't wait to get out of that wrap!
I had to get some pictures with his beautiful mama, Lauren! I always like to grab a few shots with mom or dad at the end of each session - time flies by so fast and mom and dad always tend to be behind the camera documenting their baby. Parents (and baby when grown up!) will always cherish these pictures together.
Feet-in-hands! My favorite way to end a session!
It was a pleasure to take you and your little man's photos Lauren - I can't wait until his next milestone!
