Sarah and Travis {Engagement Session, Greensburg, PA}

Sarah and Travis had their engagement session last month in June, at Twin Lakes Park in Greensburg, PA.  Sarah loves Twin Lakes and was so excited to have their photos taken here!

The day we had originally scheduled we ended up rained out - but luckily our second try was a gorgeous day, even though it was very hot and humid and we were all sweating by the end.  Who am I kidding - we were sweating 5 minutes in!

We started out with a photo including Bella - so that she could run around and play during the rest of the shoot!

These two were absolutely fabulous to work with.  They were so comfortable in front of the camera - I was wondering if I would need to pose them at all!

I loved this photo in color but I think I love it even more in black and white!  You can't miss the love between these two!

Sometimes I catch that perfect moment before the couple settles into a pose - look at that genuine smile!  It makes me smile!

This is why I prefer to shoot in the evenings - the sun is always just right (assuming it's not too cloudy!) and it adds so much depth to the photos.  Travis did this on his own - you guys made this so easy!

The girls needed to take a little bathroom break so we took advantage of that time to get some shots of Travis with his guitar (he is in a band called Deadman's Hand).

I have read multiple times in articles/blogs that photographer's shouldn't provide a handful of the same pose for a client - only the best one should be provided!  Every now and then I break this rule.  Here, the middle shot is my favorite, but I love the different angles!  I love that we see his expression, then hers, the kiss, and the slight pull away!  I love them all and I love the movement of them and the story they tell together.

 For the most part I do my best to choose one of each pose.  This makes it easier editing, but also this is a great service to my clients as well.  Choosing photos to have printed can be overwhelming - think of the eye doctor experience: which one looks better, A or B, B or A, B or C, how about A or C?  Do you catch my drift?  That is how it feels sometimes picking the best image or just trying to choose which photo you would like to hang on your wall.  It can be monotonous and draining.  That is not how I want my clients to feel - it should be an exciting experience!  It should generally be an obvious, "That is the one!" type of moment.  However, I do think there are also opportunities, like this one, where it is alright to provide more than a single image.

Sarah and her girls!

These were candids as we made our way between locations in the park - the second one, how the girls are looking at them, soo cute!

So much chemistry and intimacy here!

If you're friends with me on facebook you may have seen my posts about Bella.  If you haven't, she was diagnosed with Lyme disease in July.  She needs special treatment that insurance won't cover.  If you are interested in helping her receive care, they are hosting a benefit called Bands for Bella.  If you would like to donate you can visit their go-fund me page where you will also find more information on her condition.

You two were made for each other and I can't wait to capture your wedding photos in October!
